Job Description: Madison Square Garden             This past summer I was worked in New York City as a Partnership Sales Intern in the Sports and Entertainment department for The Madison Square Garden Company. I want to have a career in the sports and entertainment industry so there was no better place for me to intern for than at “The World’s Most Famous Arena.” MSG is a huge company with over 2000 employees and 65 interns. Despite the company being so big, it was divided into many smaller departments. Even though there were 65 interns all working at the same company, I was the only one with my title and worked under a team of 7 total people with 2 of them being my direct supervisors. I chose to read the book titled My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem. I chose this book among our three options because I was very interested in reading about Steinem's experiences on the road. I've never been very interested in either science or farming but have always enjoyed reading about the real life experiences of people who have made in difference in the world and that made this book an obvious choice for me. In addition to being interested in her life experiences, I also love to travel and it's something that I hope to continue to do later in life and I'm hoping to get some added motivation to travel and additional travel ideas from reading this book. I'm a strong advocate that life is much more about experiences than material goods and I have a strong feeling that Steinem shares that belief with me as well. I was born and raised in San Diego, California My goal is to work on business side in the sports and entertainment industry somewhere in Southern California I have interned for the Los Angeles Rams, Madison Square Garden, and the USC Athletic Department and plan to leverage the connections I made with those companies into getting a full time job somewhere within the industry My dad is a very fun guy who doesn’t take himself too seriously but is also very driven and always wanted to provide the best life possible for me and my 2 brothers.
